Our Story
The Trad Police, a group founded in 2023 by four San Antonio musicians, emerged from a shared passion for traditional jazz and its rich history. These accomplished musicians, already boasting impressive backgrounds, sought to further immerse themselves in the joy of jazz performance and study.
Why the name?
To be clear, the name is not political. It was made to be silly, but slightly descriptive.

The Trad Police love playing traditional jazz from the 1900's to the 1930's. They wanted to include that fact. The Trad Police also wanted to show that they were going to be true to the era. They were 'Policing' their styles to those decades. (For the most part.)

The Trad Police is not changing its name at this time. The members did discuss it, but it is too much hassle at this point.
